Funeral services for Jeanette House Goldtooth, 71, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 25, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Klagetoh. Burial will be in Wide Ruins Community Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Goldtooth died Aug. 19, 2010, in Wide Ruins. She was born Sept. 19, 1938, in Ganado, into the Towering House People Clan for the Red House People Clan. Goldtooth attended Sherman Indian School, Riverside, Calif. She was a housewife and was employed as a hotel maid at Chieftain Inn. She liked to travel, enjoyed doing puzzles, sewing and playing solitaire. Survivors include her son, Morgan Ashley of Tucson; daughters, Sally Benally of Tempe, Violet Curley of Scottsdale, Noreen Curley of Gallup, Alberta Begay of Wide Ruins; brother, Joe Harry House of Southern California; sisters, Lillian Jones of Wide Ruins, Anna Burnside of St. Michaels, Helena Hale of Window Rock, Mary Joe of Wide Ruins; grandmother, Alice T. Yazzie; 26 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. Goldtooth was preceded in death by her parents, Jim House, Bah Yazzie House; sisters, Lucy H. Nez, Mae H. Shorty; brother, Lew House.
Pallbearers will be Ervin Baldwin, Byron Nez, Brian Nez, Mervin Chester, Ronald Benally, Harrison Curley Jr. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wide Ruins Chapter House, following services. Arrangements are entrusted to: Cope Memorial Chapel
