Jeanne Antreasian

January 9, 1921 — September 30, 2010

ANTREASIAN-Jeanne Antreasian, 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years, passed away on September 30, 2010. She was born January 9, 1921 in Indianapolis, IN. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Garo Z. Antreasian; son, David and his wife Jo, of Albuquerque, NM; and son, Thomas of Las Cruces. Also surviving are her brother-in law, Dr. Berj Antreasian and his wife Dolores, of Indianapolis, IN; and her nieces, Jackie Flynn, of Greenwood, IN, and Vonna Sawyer, of San Antonio, TX. Jeanne studied at Principia College, Elsah, Illinois, Butler University, and John Herron Art School, Indianapolis. During World War II, she worked as a proof reader in her family's printing business, C.E. Pauley and Company and as a display artist at L.S. Ayres and Company, Indianapolis. Following marriage to her husband, Garo, in 1946, Jeanne dedicated the bulk of her life as an ardent home maker and tireless mother of two sons which for several years included the raising of her two nieces. Along with an abiding love of music and literature, she had a keen interest in contemporary art and architecture and was frequently complimented by friends and acquaintances for the style and furnishing of the various homes she accommodated for her family. Always self-modest in personal achievement, she nevertheless possessed noteworthy creative abilities as a weaver, jeweler, stained glass fabricator, and water colorist which she practiced with passion and concentration during the various stages of her life. Some of her favorite enjoyments were cats, turtles, piano, and the mountains of New Mexico. She loved gardening, fountains, sunrooms, trips to London, Paris, Italy, Istanbul, Vancouver, BC, and the autumn leaves of Indiana and New England. Jeanne thoroughly enjoyed moving to every new home and personalizing that space with her unique vision. Upon her request, Jeanne will be cremated and there will be no memorial services. Friends who desire may contribute in her memory to their favorite charity. Jeanne’s care has been entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Services 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 (505) 821-0010
