Jerry Padilla

Jerry Padilla Age 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 17, 2013, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Sapello, NM on February 18, 1938 and was a resident of Albuquerque, NM, where he was a member of San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, served as a majordomo for many years and oversaw the placing of Luminas at the church during Christmas season. Up onto most recently, Jerry used to lock the Church daily. For 35 years, Jerry was a long-term proud member of Carpenter�s Union Local 407. He was preceded in death by his parents; Albina and Jose Maria Padilla, step-father, Manuel Padilla and one sister, Eloisa Gonzales. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Padilla; one sister Alice Alcon of Mora, NM, his children, Anita Salas and husband Gilbert Sr., Kateri Padilla, Mary Denise Vigeant, husband Jim, Kyle Padilla and Tyler Padilla; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, Gilbert Salas, Jr., Monica Sandoval, husband Gab, Letisha Duckett, husband Dennis, Briana Padilla, Joslyn Bomgaars, husband Joel and Justin Vigeant, three great-grandchildren, Kylina Duckett, Connor Duckett and Ethan Bomgaars. Jerry will be greatly missed by his loving family and uppermost by those whose hearts he touched. A sincere gratitude goes out to the staff of Hospice of the Sandias; Maureen Seako, RN, Walik Edwards, Medical Social Worker, Jo Ann Nelson, Spiritual Care and Myra Rodriguez, Hospice Aide. Pallbearers will be George Padilla, Casey Padilla, Gilbert Salas, Jr., Justin Vigeant, Rick Garcia and Leo Naranjo. Honorary pallbearers are Anita Salas, Monica Sandoval, Leo Naranjo, Jr. and Leo Lucero. Visitations will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, Albuquerque, NM on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
