Jesus Acosta

57-year-old Jesus Acosta was a free spirited selfless man. In his early years he worked for El Camino Restaurant, Randy’s Ace Hardware and car wash, RAKS building supply and other local entities in Socorro County. Jesus was born in Juan Mendoza, Chih. Mexico. He was raised in Parral, Chih. Mexico. Jesus migrated to the United States in his teenage years and quickly became a US Permanent Resident. Little did he know he would make Socorro his forever home.

Jesus loved to dance, drink and spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed playing pool, BBQ’s and cooking at home. His hobbies were: fishing, camping, hunting and target practice at the local shooting range. He had several different shooting tricks. One of many of those tricks was to shoot a hole in the center of a quarter from a long distance range. Jesus enjoyed hiking and exploring the Quebradas and Gordy Hills. He loved being out in nature.  In most recent years he enjoyed less strenuous activities such as going to restaurants, exploring delicious foods, casinos and visiting Chimayo church in Chimayo, NM. He developed a beautiful trusting relationship with the priest in Chimayo and enjoyed Sunday masses there. He loved going on road trips with a music playlist and soak in our wonderful NM scenery.

Jesus started working at New Mexico Tech Golf Course on June 4th, 2012. He took pride in all he set out to accomplish. His gracious understanding yet firm personality made him an outstanding lead man. Anyone that interacted with Jesus quickly found out that he had a beautiful aura about him.  The Acosta family is a large extended family and ALL love him very much. Jesus reciprocated that love by making everyone feel special in his own individualistic manner. His sincere, patient and calm demeanor allowed anyone he interacted with to feel heard and loved. Jesus will forever be in our hearts. Hasta luego my love and until we meet again. Our time on earth with you was AMAZING.  Proverbs 16:19 In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.
