Thompson, Jim
Jimmy Dale Thompson, went home to be with the Lord on March 18th 2019. He was an Army veteran and retired employee of Sandia National Labs where he worked as a painter and a dispatcher in the motor pool.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Alice J. Thompson, brother Bob J. Thompson and sister Shirlene Fitzgibbon. He is survived by his children, Dan L. Thompson (wife Lisa) and Nancy McDuffie (husband Russ); grandchildren, Brad Thompson, Jessica McCargish, Lauren Thompson, Joshua McDuffie, Alyssa Thompson, and Ryan McDuffie; and great-grandchildren Claire and Henley Thompson.
Jim loved old country music and played mandolin and guitar which he has passed down to his future generations. When he was younger he loved to go camping and spend time at the lake water skiing with his family. Cars were also one of his passions. He made sure to pass this love on to his grandchildren by buying them each their first car when they turned 15. Jim was always willing to help his family or friends with a painting project. After losing his wife, Jim’s companion became his Rottweiler Bindi who was by his side when he passed.
