JoAnn Elias

February 14, 1993 — August 29, 2025

Elias, JoAnn Louise

JoAnn Elias, age 32, beloved wife, daughter, and sister passed away August 29, 2025. JoAnn, a self-declared bookworm, was known for her smile, her collection of perfumes and candles, her joy for capturing beauty of the outdoors with photography, her desire to travel and always buying little things to remember where she had been, her spontaneity to explore a new place, her inquisitive nature of cars, and always a participant of silly mischief her brother would cook up. She enjoyed being around family and friends and had one of the most genuine laughs. JoAnn was always well-liked at any place she worked and made friends quickly. She went above and beyond her duties at work and her responsibilities in her personal life. She loved her dogs as if they were her children. She had recently re-discovered her faith. A Bible verse found on her phone from James 1: 2-4, we believe, provided her comfort in dark times: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

She is survived by her husband, Damien Chavez, her father, John Elias, mother-in-law, Norma Chavez-Murphy, and father-in-law, Tim Murphy. She is also survived by her brother, Robby Elias, and oldest brother, Jae Elias, his wife, Mary Elias, and their two children, Brooklyn and Jaedyn. She also leaves many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also touching JoAnn’s life were her friends, Ernesto Prieto, Tealy Miller, Connor Schneider, Alex Galindo, Aubrey Gutierrez, Marcelo Olguin, Miranda Olguin, Jacque Sarracino, Lauren Pruitt, and Sergio Cordova. JoAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Lourdes Elias, and brother, Paul Elias.
