Joe Pacheco was born in San Pedro, Colorado, on September 23rd, 1935. A resident of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, he passed away on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023, he was 87 years old.

 

Joe is survived by three children, Pamela Pacheco of Jamestown, Tennessee, Beverly Pacheco of Anchorage, Alaska, and Thomas Pacheco of Milltown, New Jersey. Joe had six grandchildren: Brandon Roberts, Shayla Myers, Pete Pacheco, Selena Larsen, Thomas Pacheco Jr., and Antonio Pacheco. He also had eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a brother Silas Pacheco, and a sister, Irene Wersch, both siblings of Rio Rancho, NM.

 

Joe retired from the United States Air Force Academy in the early 1990’s and he served 4 years in the United States Army. He was a golfer, a league bowler, and an avid fisherman, but the one thing he was most proud of was his graduation from the “School of Hard Knocks”.

 

Joe was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Pacheco, his grandson Nicholas Pacheco, parents Eliu and Josephine Pacheco, sister Charlotte Garza, and by brothers Paul Pacheco and Tony Pacheco.

 

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023, at Daniels Family Funeral Services – Sara Chapel, located at 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 87124, beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at a later date in Algood, Tennessee.
