Joe G Velasquez

October 18, 1957 — December 26, 2021

Joe G Velasquez, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away in his North Valley home on December 26th, 2021, at the age of 64.

 Joe was born on October 18th, 1957, to Mabel and Jose Velasquez, and lived much of his life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was the second youngest of 7 children, raised with all sisters. On June 28, 1980, Joe married his beloved wife, Hope. One child was born from this union four years later, Joe Jr.. He proved himself to be a wonderful and dedicated father.  Joe was a lifelong Washington Redskins Fan and loved the game of football. In his spare time, he loved being outdoors, especially camping and fishing the grounds of Rio de Las Vacas. He worked as a truck driver for Riccobene for just over 38 years, in which he built strong friendships with those he worked with. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends and all the people who have had the pleasure of knowing him.

Joes’ life will forever be remembered in the hearts of his son Joe Velasquez Jr., daughter-in-law Abigail Velasquez, grandchildren; Abriella Velasquez, Hope Velasquez, Ximena Velasquez and Lazaro Velasquez, Step-grandson Aniel Rubio. Stepdaughter Melissa Marquez.  Sisters; Mary Sanchez, Theresa Quintero, Dora Pena, Sheila Jemenez. Numerous amounts of nieces and nephews, along with many other family members and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 32 years Hope Velasquez, Father Jose Velasquez, Mother Mabel Velasquez, sisters Ernestine (Tina) Ortega and Eileen Sedillo.

 

A visitation will be held January 12th, 2022 at 5:00 located at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque NM, with a Rosary to follow at 6:pm.
