With deepest sorrows, we announce the passing of Joella Carson “Jojo” Dutchover, 33, of Albuquerque on Monday, September 9.
Born and raised in Roswell, NM, Joella brought light to every room she walked into. She loved all things outdoors, including animals, flowers, and especially rocks and crystals. Joella never met a stranger and loved pushing life’s boundaries especially with food, clothing, and travel.
Joella worked in the TV and film industry, during which she met the love of her life, Ricardo Perez. Married in 2022 and welcomed, Evelyn Rose Perez Dutchover later that year. Since then, she has focused her love and energy on raising Evelyn with Rico.
Joella was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jerry Dutchover Sr., maternal grandfather, Charles Arthur Hughes, maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Cheryl Hughes (Smith).
Joella is survived by her loving husband, Ricardo Perez and daughter, Evelyn Rose Perez Dutchover. She also leaves behind her father, Jerry Dutchover Jr., mother, Carol Dutchover (Hughes), paternal grandmother, Elena Dutchover (Hernandez), sister, Jessica Bollema (Neel) (Blake Bollema), nephew, Brodie Becker, and brother, Jordan Dutchover. She is also surrounded in love but also leaves behind by her aunties, Jacquie, Janice, and Julie. Aunts, Janet, Zandra, Toni, Christine, Uncle Mark, and nine cousins. Joella leaves behind many members of the Perez family including, Abraham, Elia, Abraham Jr., and Laura who loved her like their own.
Services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Roswell, New Mexico. Please join the family in a celebration of life for Joella at the sunken garden at Cahoon Park (4th St. and Union Ave.) at 5:00 pm. Reception to follow.
