John E. Buehler

January 6, 1932 — July 14, 2023

John Edward Buehler passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023.  He entered the world January 6, 1932, in St. Louis MO, born to Hilmer and Loretta Buehler. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 wonderful years, Joanne Buehler. Together they had seven children: Diane Bachicha, Tom and spouse Joann Buehler, Mary and spouse Dan Robertson, Dan Buehler, Joe and spouse Kerry Buehler, Helen Henthorn, and Mike and spouse Shelly Buehler. He had 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was a loving father and was so very proud of all his children and grandkids alike. He always enjoyed a good conversation and was truly interested in the latest goings on in everyone’s life.

He was a 4-year veteran of the USAF and served in the Korean conflict. He studied and graduated from Rockhurst College in Kansas City MO with a degree in Economics. With his wife’s major support, he established Real Estate Financial Corporation, a mortgage lending operation that was later sold to Nusenda Credit Union.  He was active for 40 years as a mortgage banker and in Albuquerque’s business circles, including as president of the New Mexico Mortgage Bankers Association in 1990.

He treasured Albuquerque’s North Valley and Bosque where he rode his bike and walked for decades.  He was an avid dog and cat lover, bicycle enthusiast, and played the piano and baritone ukulele. His wide circle of family and friends adored him for his generous spirit and good humor. He will be dearly missed.

Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. 8/18 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church 811 Guaymas Pl NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
