John Candelaria, age 88, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 with family and loved ones at his side. John was born on August 3rd, 1935 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Alfredo Candelaria and Lillie Speronelli. John resided within Albuquerque, New Mexico and where he married his wife Merlene Candelaria. John and Merlene were married for 30 years before her death on September 6th 1997. John worked for Transamerica as a manager of one of their local branches.  John was a loving father, husband, and grandfather.  John is survived by his son and daughter, Johnny Candelaria and his wife Eve Candelaria, and daughter Darlene de Aragao and husband Ernani de Aragao; five grandchildren Denae Candelaria, Deven Candelaria, Dominique de Aragao and wife Emily de Aragao, Joshua de Aragao, and Jonathen de Aragao; two great grandchildren, James de Aragao and Lucia de Aragao.  A special thank you to Brenda Sosa, his caregiver and to everyone at Ambercare Hospice who cared for John, especially this past week.

Memorial services for John Candelaria will be held at San Ysidro Parish on 5015 Corrales Rd, Corrales, NM 87048 on September 20th 2023. Rosary will begin at 9:30 am followed by a memorial service at 10:00 am. Burial services will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
