John McGurn

Passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2014. Butch is survived by his former spouse Judy; his son Craig and daughter-in-law Rhonda of Albuquerque; sisters Aileen Stults and husband Floyd of Albuquerque; Jil McGurn of Santa Fe, Julie Crook and husband Randy of Jemez Springs; grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Sebastian, Jace, and Madyson; and many nieces and nephews. Butch served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, and retired from Sandia National Laboratories as a Distinguished Technologist. He was a member of Risen Savior Catholic Church and the American Legion. His many hobbies included various sports and "he loved the ponies." Cremation has taken place under the direction of Daniels Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on February 19, 2014 at Risen Savior Catholic Church 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque. A reception will follow the mass. The urn will be proudly placed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery afterwards at 2:15 pm.
