John H. Mooney

John Houston “Scotty” Mooney, 60, died November 12th 2018 at his home in Albuquerque, NM.

      Born on November 5th, 1958 in Greenock, Scotland, John was the seventh of eight children born to Frances and Thomas Mooney.  John grew up in Greenock, graduating from Notre Dame High School. John Moved to America when has 24 years old and traveled around the country before settling in New Mexico.

      John worked many years as a car salesman in the Albuquerque area and received numerous awards and recognition for his work.  John loved golf, the Washington Redskins and ballooning and volunteered at the Balloon Fiesta for many years.  John was a Master Mason and belonged to the Sandia Mountain Lodge #72.  John had an infectious laugh, enjoyed a crude sense of humor, and was a man who spoke his mind in all situations.  Beloved by his large network of family and friends for his big heart and sincerity, John will be dearly missed.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Thomas Mooney; and his two sisters, Yvonne Jaramillo and Susan Eidenberger.

      John is survived by his two brothers, Thomas Mooney of Corby, England and Robert Mooney of Albuquerque, NM and three sisters, Catherine Brunson of Walterboro, SC, Eileen Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA and Rosie Michaelis of Albuquerque, NM. 

      Funeral services will held at Daniel’s Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel on Monday, November 19th at 11 AM, and will be buried at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
