John Archuleta Romero

November 1, 1930 — March 11, 2022

John Archuleta Romero passed away on March 11, 2022, in Albuquerque New Mexico at the age of 91. He was born November 1st, 1930 in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, to Leopoldo Romero and Soila Archuleta.

A respected veteran, John served in the US Army in the Korean war. Retiring from the City of Albuquerque’s Water Department after 36 years, John moved back to his hometown of Monticello, NM in 1986.  He was a member of Sierra County Sheriff’s Posse and Valencia County Sheriff’s Posse. John enjoyed farming, ranching, raising horses and goats, and dancing.

John is preceded by his brothers, Marcos, Patricio, Donicio, David, Candelario, and Salvador, as well as his sisters Alvita and Louise.

He is survived by his wife Janet Romero and children; Tedd (Judy), Tim (Brenda), Cindy, Dean (Leeann), Robert, Jennifer, Karen (David), Patrick (Jessica), and Mary (Drew), as well as his 11 grandchildren

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The family would like to thank the Lovelace Cancer Center and Dr. Purdy, Roadrunner Healthcare, and Susan (Rn) from Ambercare for providing exceptional care and support to our father John.  

A "Celebration of Life" will be held in the Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Chapel on Monday March 21, 2022 starting at 2:00 PM. The burial will take place at the Monticello Cemetery on March 22, 2022 starting at 1 PM.
