John "Jimmy" Sanchez

John N. Sanchez (Jimmy), of Magdalena, New Mexico beloved husband, father and friend passed on August 20, 2021 at age 78.

Jimmy was survived by his wife Darlene Sanchez; children, Bobby Dean Sanchez, Amanda Sanchez and Victoria Torres; brothers, Gilbert Sanchez and wife Barbara, Joe Sanchez and wife Helen; sister, Maria Sanchez; grandchildren, Richard Hobbs, Daniel and Sofia Haggenmiller; great-grandson Jonathan Hobbs.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Rita Sanchez of Magdalena, son, Jonathan Patrick Sanchez, grandson Jonathan Patrick Torres.

Jimmy was born April 13, 1943 in Horse Springs, NM to Felix and Rita Sanchez.  He was a dedicated husband, father, and loved his job working at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory - Very Large Array located in central New Mexico on the Plains of San Agustin, between the towns of Magdalena and Datil.  He retired from the NRAO in 2010 after 27 years of service.  Jimmy enjoyed hunting, going for wood and being in the mountains and outdoors.  His passion was visiting with friends.

Due to the Covid19 Pandemic a memorial service is scheduled for March 19, 2022.
