Johnnie Gonzales

GONZALES- Johnnie Gonzales, 77, passed away on March 24, 2011. He was born March 30, 1933, in Miami, NM, to Francisco and Juanita Gonzales. Johnnie was a lifelong resident of NM and was a member of the Catholic Church. He attended St. Patrick’s Academy, was in the Cabinetmaker and Ironworker Unions, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Eversole. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Alice; children, Emili-Jon Gonzales, Michael Gonzales, Luz-Marie Gonzales, and Natalie Dossiter; grandchildren, Jontelle Romero Bennett, Rachelle Romero, Emilio Gonzales Barros, Victor Baros, Joshua Gonzales, MichaelAngelo Gonzales, Marc Gonzales, Estrella Gonzalez, Antone Gonzales, Francisco Ferriera, and Mychal-Ann Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Daniel Michael, Elijah, Isaiah, Shevaeh, Mariah, Ariana, Anastasia, Alysse, and Alexis; siblings, Louise (Joe) Ortiz, Leandro (Lupe) Gonzales, Carmen (Richard) Newman, Bernadette (Robert) Becerra, Rita Gonzales, and Inez (Joe) Baca, Veronica (Bill)Pollack. Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Levi, Tito, and Samuel. His proudest moments in his life were spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Johnnie will be missed by his loving family and friends. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00, Friday, April 1, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 71 Tribal Road, Isleta Pueblo, NM 505-869-3398.
