Jon Schlough

Jon Schlough, of Farmington, passed away from a sudden illness in Albuquerque at UNM Hospital on Saturday, July 19, 2008. He was born June 22, 1945 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Alvina and Leon Schlough. Jon grew up in Minnesota, lived in Colorado and moved to Farmington, New Mexico in 1992. He graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango with a degree in Education & Art Education. He taught art for many years at Shiprock High School, and most recently taught Special Education at Kirtland High School. He was a musician, an artist and a sailor.Most importantly, Jon was a husband, a father, a brother and a friend to many.Jon is survived by his wife, Bonnie and son Alex, and brothers Thomas, David, & Steven Schlough and sisters Kathy Koshiol, Janet Orsini, Diane Schnaser and Joanie Abbe. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a multitude of friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and the family will make donations in line with Jon's interests and many pursuits.
