Jose M. Otero

OTERO-Jose M. Otero, 72, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Jose was born May 17, 1938 in Cubero, NM. He is survived by his loving wife Elva of 38 years; his caring mother Rebecca; his wonderful children, Joseph N. Otero, Jessie Mae Otero, Lorraine Otero-Sandoval and husband Marcos and Jose M Otero Jr.; brothers Mike, Carl, Eddie and Louis; sisters Eloisa Beggs, Jennie Schobey and Mary Solano; sister in law Sylvia Foster and her three sons; and niece Rose Gonzales and her daughter Shante also other nieces; nephews; numerous in laws on his wife’s side of the family as well as his father in law; friends and relatives. Jose was very fond of his wife and loved spending time with her and his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time on his ranch and loved horses. Jose had a generous heart and adopted all who needed him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitations will be in the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, Thursday August 26, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with reciting of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place Friday, August 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Cubero, NM., with interment to follow at the Cubero Cemetery.
