Jose P. Padilla

Joe P. Padilla, age 94, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Sunday, August 28, 2011. He was born July 1, 1917 to Serafin and Petra Padilla, in Bosquesito, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Edna Chavez and son Richard Padilla. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Helen; daughters, Rita Chavez and husband Ray, Christine Romero and husband Jerry; sons, Joe Padilla Jr. and wife Grace of California, Jerry Padilla of Denver, and Robert Padilla of California; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Ulibarri of Arizona and Hope Armola of Los Lunas, two brothers, Edmundo Padilla and Gabriel Padilla both of Polvadera, NM. The Family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of the Paloma Blanca Nursing Home for all their wonderful care of Joe, and a special thank you goes to Lola, C.N.A. for giving such loving care to our father. A Visitation will take place at Garcia Mortuary in the Chapel of Angels, Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 301 Stover Ave. SW, Friday September 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.; Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Paul McCleary, Ted Padilla, Andrew Ortiz, Carl Romero, Charles Chavez and Gavin Chavez. Joe's care has been entrusted to:
