Rinaldi, Joseph George Age 78, was born on March 1, 1936 in Bernalillo, New Mexico and passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. George was preceded in death by his father, George, and mother, Jesusita Rinaldi, brother Martin Rinaldi, and sister Dolores Baca. George is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years Maria Cecilia Rinaldi and his son, Keith Rinaldi, and wife Velma, his brothers: Dick Rinaldi (Verda) and John Rinaldi (Suzie), sisters-in-law Margaret Rinaldi, Lucy Manown, Ernedes Chaves (Ross), and Linda Archuleta, brothers-in-law Fred Archuleta (Elia), Joe Archuleta, Martin Archuleta (Helen), Cel Archuleta (Alice), and Manuel Archuleta (Lettie) as well as many other family members and friends who loved him and will truly miss him. George was the second of five children born to George Rinaldi and Jesusita Rinaldi. He grew up in Bernalillo, attending Our Lady of Sorrows High School, where he was a basketball standout before attending Loyola University New Orleans on a basketball scholarship and later attended St. Michael�s in Santa Fe. After graduating from college and serving in the United States Army, he returned to Bernalillo where he went to work in education at Bernalillo Public Schools, first as a teacher, then as principal, educational director, and school superintendent. After retirement, he worked with the San Felipe Gaming Commission as a gaming commissioner. He fully retired in the late 1990s and devoted his time to being with his family and working as a marshal at the Santa Ana Golf course where he made many friends and golfing partners. He loved the game of golf and golfed with his brother, John, every Thursday and with other friends on Saturday morning. He and his wife were inseparable. They were always together going to the gym, to movies, etc. George was a thoroughly devoted husband and deeply loving father and father-in-law who enjoyed golf, his dogs, fine dining, attending and watching sporting events, and above all else taking care of his family. A Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May , 2014 at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 2 at 10:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church with interment to follow at the OLOS cemetery.
