Joseph Steve Zibreg Jr.

Joseph S. Zibreg ("Steve"), also known as Steve, age 79, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He was born on December 31, 1945, in Washington, D.C., to Eva Zibreg and Joseph S. Zibreg Sr.

Joseph proudly served in the United States Air Force with the rank of Sergeant from 1963 to 1969.

In August of 1976, he married Joyce Travers in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared many years together and made their home in Rio Rancho.

Joseph dedicated over 40 years of service working in telecommunications with Mountain Bell, US West, Qwest, and CenturyLink before retiring.

He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including walking, spending time walking his dog, and taking pride in keeping his car and garage meticulously clean.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Zibreg and Joseph S. Zibreg Sr.; his brother, Leonard Zibreg; and his sister, Eva Zibreg.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Zibreg of Rio Rancho; his sons, Robert Zibreg of Albuquerque and James Zibreg of Rio Rancho; his sister, Eleanor Wilson of Candler, North Carolina; and his beloved pet, Lexy.

Joseph will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his quiet, steady presence.
