Josephine Jackson

 On May 8, 1927, in Marshall Texas, an angel was born, Josephine Calloway Jackson, to Robert and Louella Calloway (later Roseberry).  Ms. JoJo (as some would lovingly call her) was the fourth oldest of ten children.  She spent most of her growing years in Longview TX and made her way to Albuquerque New Mexico with her husband Feldon “Jack” Jackson and 2 young children.  After making Albuquerque her home, she converted from Baptist to Catholicism and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She worked as a bartender/hostess at the American Legion Post 95 on Broadway and later for Gary Swartzman of Swartzmans meatpacking company.  Upon her illness for the last 15 years, she attended God’s Way Community Church with her daughter and granddaughter.  

Ms.  JoJo was called home to be with Our Lord on April 6, 2020.  She is preceded in death by her parents Robert Calloway, Louella Roseberry (step-father Hollis Roseberry), Sisters:  Lillie Mae Calloway and Tessa Mae Calloway; brothers:  Isaiah Calloway, Raymond Calloway, Robert Calloway, and Clarence Calloway; husbands:  Feldon Jackson Sr. and Sam Brown Jr.; son:  James Lee Jackson; son-in-law:  Henry Grier Sr. 

Those left with loving memories:  Sons:  Joe Lee Butler Sr. (Etta “baby sis”), Feldon Jackson Jr.; daughters:  Martha Grier, Mary Ann Jackson, Mary Elizabeth Jackson, Grandchildren (only a few named),  Joe Lee Butler Jr. Henry Grier Jr., Tommy Grier, Dalaney Jackson, Jayme Jackson, Jaxon Booth and Jazmine Booth; Great-grandchildren (only a few named):  Lakisha Goudeau, Zoriah Jackson, and Dezmond Jackson; Brother:  Richard Calloway; Sisters:  Katherine Alexander, Annie Pearl Stevens.  More grand and great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
