It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Juanita Connor Mote on May 15, 2026, at the age of 80.

Juanita was born on June 23, 1945, in Marshall, Texas. She grew up in Jefferson, Texas and received her master's from University North Texas. She enjoyed teaching fourth grade. After marrying Phil Mote they moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico to raise their family.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her. She was known for her kindness, strength, humor, and faith. She had a special gift for making others feel welcome and cared for.

Juanita cherished her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Meredith Blackmon and Melanie Mote; grandchildren, Lauren, Layton, Kailynn, Presley, Noah, and Connor. Her brother, Robert Connor and his wife Sandra; Nieces, Kim, Mindy, and Laura. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and RC Connor, Aunt Goldie and Uncle Red Goleman.

Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the values she shared, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family and friends.
