Judith Brown Christopher, 83, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026 in Albuquerque, NM.

Judy’s journey began in Baltimore, MD on October 19, 1942 born to Mary ApMadoc Brown and Emmet Oliver Brown. She and her older sister, Carolyn, were raised in Evanston, IL. Judy attended Evanston High School and Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. Following school, she moved to Chicago where she met Tom, her husband of 60 years. They raised two children living initially in Glencoe, IL, before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1983.

Judy was proud of her Swedish heritage and cherished being a mother and wife. Outside the home, her passions were music, theater, and voice. She held many lead roles in regional theater productions including Aunt Eller in “Oklahoma!”, Meg in “Damn Yankees”, Domina in “Forum”, and Mrs. Banks in “Barefoot in the Park”. Judy was an active jazz vocalist and performed into her 80s with a talented community of musicians at numerous venues across Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

Judy is survived by her husband Tom, son Greg and his wife Erin, daughter Laura and her husband Jeff Erway. She also leaves behind four grandchildren Shannon & Alex Christopher and Miles & Owen Erway.

A public service will be held for Judy on Saturday, July 25th at 1:30pm, at Daniels Family Funeral Home, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque NM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Judy’s memory to Outpost Productions, the NM jazz organization that Judy held close to her heart. https://outpostspace.org/support-us/donations/
