She was a self taught ornithologist, and her children proudly remember the determination with which she studied birds and bird songs. In the early 1970's, she became known locally as a bird rehabiltator, and nursed many injured snd orphaned birds back to health, including mourning doves that learned to fly under her care, and a humming bird named Peaches. In 1991, Judy married geologist Roy Pritchard. They sharded an interest in bird watching and shared numerous trips throughout the United States and abroad. She was also an avid bridge player, and enjoyed many happy hours with her dear friends in bridge clubs. Judy is survived by her former husband. Frank, of Farmington; sons.
