Julia Jake

Jake died June 3, 2010, in Gallup. She was born Dec. 26, 1929, in Borrego Pass, into the Hairy People Clan for the Black Streak of Forest People Clan. Jake was a peace maker and was on the school board. She did ranching, fencing, farming and weaving. She was in Ms. Elder Fest 2005-2006. Survivors include her son, Olson Jake Jr. of Prewitt; daughter, Rosie Ann Jake of Prewitt; father, Peacock Charley; sisters, Beatrice McDonald of Casamero Laker, Elice Vandever of Haystack; 14 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Jake was preceded in death by her husband, Olson Jake Sr.; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; son, Harry Jake. Pallbearers will be Cody Jake, Myrick Jake, Brandon Yazzie, Daron Grey, Arin Grey, Chance Yazzie. Arrangements are entrusted to; Cope Memorial Chapel 1830 Barbara Gallup,New Mexico 505-722-6671
