Julia R. Myers

December 27, 1951 — July 7, 2022

Julia R. Myers died on July 7, 2022. She is survived by a large family, including her beloved husband Chuck Myers; parents Ron and Bobbie Rowland; siblings Patty Burke, Jim Rowland, and John Rowland, and their spouses and children; daughter Maggie Winters and her husband John Winters; and son Daniel Myers, his wife Michelle Phelps, and their children, Theo Myers and Ivy Phelps.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She earned her Ph.D. in Art History in 1989 and taught at Eastern Michigan University for 24 years. She curated dozens of shows across her career, including at the Smithsonian, Eastern Michigan University, and the Mulvane Art Museum.

Julie believed deeply in the power of community and that each individual person can make their community a better place—throughout her life, she volunteered extensively at local theater and arts education programs, museums—including the Albuquerque Museum—community charities for the homeless and seniors.

She wanted to thank her friends and family for loving her and giving her so much over the years.

A memorial service will be held in Dallas, TX, at a later date.
