Kathy K. Porter, 92, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026.

Born in Albany, New York, in 1934, Kathy was the daughter of Aileen and Clayton Kelley. She graduated from Milne High School in 1951 and pursued her passion for dance by studying ballet at the American School of Ballet in New York City.

In 1977, Kathy made Albuquerque her home. She later studied computer programming and worked for the University of Albuquerque and Metro Court. For many years, she was a devoted resident of Casa Ladera Condominiums, where she served on the board of directors until January of this year. Kathy was deeply involved in her community and was known for her kindness, curiosity, and genuine interest in others.

A lifelong learner, Kathy had a thirst for knowledge and enjoyed exploring philosophy, history, religion, and the stories of the people she met. She cherished her many friendships and touched the lives of countless people through her warmth, wisdom, and caring nature.

Kathy was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Dikitolia.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy Carpentier of New York; her daughter, Kathy Oby of New Hampshire; her son, Tom Porter and his wife, Marcie Porter, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; her daughter, Sharon Stone and her husband, Kevin Stone, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her grandchildren, Edward Porter, Megan Weems, and Brian Oby; her great-grandchildren, Harrison and Emerson Oby; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity in Kathy's honor.
