Katie Platero Collins

Katie Platero Collins, 64, of Algonquin, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 in Winfield, Illinois. Katie was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth T. Platero and grandfather, Francisco Trujillo. She is survived by her daughters, Tina Yazzie-Bittler and Melissa Collins; son, Terry Yazzie; brothers, George and Andy Platero; sisters, Eva Platero, Stella Joe and Carolyn Velarde; and four grandchildren, Pamela and Jim Bittler, Shawn Collins and Iyanna Counts. Funeral services will be at 10 am, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Dzil-Na-Oodilii Bible church in Bloomfield with Adrian Velarde officiating. Interment will follow at Lybrook Cemetery in Lybrook, New Mexico. Local arrangements are entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington, Farmington, NM (505) 327-5142.
