Kelly Anne
Genova
Nov 22, 1960 — Jul 20, 2026
Kelly Anne Genova, born November 22, 1960, died unexpectedly and most untimely at age 65 on July 21, 2026, here at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, despite the valiant efforts of the medical staff.
Kelly was born in Stuttgart, Germany to Anthony T. Genova II and his wife, Jeanne. She leaves her sister, Tracey Green and husband Kevin Green, her brother, Anthony T. Genova III and wife Denise Genova, and her niece and nephew Elizabeth and Anthony Green. She had no children of her own, but took a motherly interest in Candice and her daughter Evelyn, and provided love and help to them for 20-plus years. Her friends were dear to her.
Kelly graduated from Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School in 1978, St. John’s College in 1982, and University of New Mexico in 1985 with a law degree. She practiced law for 40 years.
She was married to James Rawley for 20 years. They met as opposing lawyers in a work compensation case, and years later met again and were soon in love. They celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in June, going to the cabin at the Dam Site at Elephant Butte, a place they had gone before. The lake was near empty, the towns with new roads and shuttered buildings.
A memorial of shared family and friends will meet on Wednesday, June 29, at Daniels Funeral Home on Carlisle Boulevard at 10:00AM. Her beloved mother, sister, brother, and husband welcome all she loved and who loved her for a moment to remember this one-of-a-kind lady.
