Kenneth John Bruno

Kenneth John Bruno 1936 – 2026 Kenneth J. Bruno, born November 5, 1936, died peacefully in his sleep on March 27, 2026. Ken proudly served in the Army as a paratrooper in the 1950s. He later worked for the railroad and, following retirement, as a security guard at Lovelace Medical Center. It was there he met Marian Ewert, a nurse, and they married on April 5, 1995. Ken was a faithful husband who loved Marian dearly. An avid hiker, Ken and Marian traveled extensively across the USA, visiting places like Mount Washington and the Grand Canyon. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He is survived by his wife, Marian; his children, Anthony Bruno and Charlene Bruno; his granddaughters, Vanessa and Maria Bruno; his sister, Arlene Bruno and brother, Sal Bruno. He is also survived by his stepchildren, David (Mary) Ewert, Don (Stephanie) Ewert, Barbara (Joe) Budagher, Bill (Andrea) Ewert and DIane (Juan De Dios) Baca as well as nine step-grandchildren: Adam, Dominic, and Jeremy Ewert; Carli and Austin Ewert; Santiago and Vernica Baca; and Jordan and Diego Budagher and finally two great grandchildren Eleanor and Theodor GomezEwert. The Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 20, at 9:30 AM, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Albuquerque, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Wyoming Blvd.
