Kenneth Ray Johnston passed away on March 23, 2018 at his son’s home in Socorro, NM. Both of his children were with him when he passed. Ken lived a long, eventful life with several occupations, great friendships and adventurous hobbies like jeep racing, politics, private piloting, and hunting. Most of his life was spent in Truth or Consequences and he also lived in Ruidoso for several years where he managed Zia Natural Gas, his last employer before his retirement. While in Truth or Consequences, Ken was a marina concessionaire at Elephant Butte Lake. He was also a New Mexico State Senator from 1957 to 1964.
Ken is survived by his son, Mark Johnston of Socorro, NM, daughter, Jana Hodges of Sugar Land, TX and grandson, Kevin Johnston of Ruidoso, NM. He was a widower. His wife of 63 years, Jacqueline Johnston, passed away in 2012.
