Kristy Jo Garduno

Kristy Jo Garduno Lopez passed away at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona on October 11, 2022 at the age of 44.  She was born on March 14, 1978 to Donald and Deanna Garduno, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Kristy was a unique person.  She started walking at 9 months and never stopped!  At the age of 25, Kristy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus and Sjögren's disease, but she didn’t let her sickness keep her down.  She loved to shop, dance and most of all she loved her family and her yorkie, Ellie Jo.

She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Garduno; grandparents, Mary Lewis, Ernest and Ramona Garduno; uncles, Ernest, Sammy, and Robert Garduno; cousins, Jeannie Quintana, Anthony Chavez, Chris Garduno, and Mario Guzman.

Kristy is survived by her husband, Arthur Lopez; children, Marissa and Arthur A. Lopez; mother, Deanna Garduno; grandfather, Gerald Lewis; brothers, Gerald and Donald (Sarah) Garduno; niece and nephew, Layla and Santino Garduno; uncles, Eddie (Gloria) Garduno, Leonard (Roberta) Garduno; aunts, Marcella (Fidel) Armijo, Maryann (Raymond) Witkowski, Jeannie and Phillip Gueruva, Bernice (Manuel) Chavez, Kathy Garduno, Marcella Garduno, special aunt Linda (Nate) Gonzalez, Cecilia Borrego of Kansas City, MO, Anita (Fernando) Ruiz, Marie Lewis; and many cousins, and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers:  Eddie Garduno, Leonard Garduno, Gerald and Donald Garduno, Missy and Scarlett Ruiz, Honary Pallbearer Daniel Garduno.

Open visitation will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, October 27, 2022, Southern Chapel, 2400 Southern Blvd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Service will begin at 12:00PM.  Graveside service to follow at 1:00PM, Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
