Langdon Burdette (Burt) Taylor, 65, a longtime resident of Socorro, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2019. He was born in Rolla, MO to Langdon and Marie Taylor on September 16, 1953. Burt graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in architecture. He was a talented draftsman and artist. He leaves behind a prolific art collection; his “Two Bird” series has been on display at Macey Center at New Mexico Tech. He was also a talented musician and song writer who could often been seen at various local venues on open mic nights performing his popular original songs. He worked many jobs throughout his life including draftsman at the NM Tech Physical Plant, a substitute teacher in the Socorro School system, landscape architect, house painter, and newspaper delivery. Burt was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his two daughters Katherine Thacker (Jeremiah) of Prairie Grove, AR, Sarah Wingfield Helmer (Shane) of Lincoln, AR; four siblings Mary Lou Farquhar (John), Ann Boynton (Lowell), Susan Eveleth (Bob), and Mark Taylor (Rebecca); six beloved grandchildren Rex, Zach, Molly and Finn Helmer and Daniel and Elijah Thacker. He was Uncle Burt to countless nieces and nephews. He loved his town and community and was a wonderful neighbor, brother, father, and friend who will be greatly missed. Services to be announced.
