Laura Anita Ann "Nan" Brewer Troup

Our wonderful, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Laura Anita Ann “Nan” Brewer Troup, passed at the age of 85 on August 16, 2025, surrounded by her family. Nan was born in Hot Springs, NM on July 24, 1940, to William and Lessie Brewer. Nan was the youngest of 4 siblings, Lona May, Willie and Cletus, who all preceded her in death. Nan graduated from high school in Silver City, NM in 1958 and went to Western University. She moved to Arizona in February of 1960 where she met the love of her life Frank Troup who preceded her in death. They were married in September of 1960 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Silver City, NM. They had three children, Marie, Steve and Bill. Anita “Nan” Troup worked at Public Service Company of New Mexico and retired in 2014. But her favorite job was being Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great- Grandmother!!! She loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. She was encouraging, supportive, compassionate and warm and she made you feel like you were her favorite person in the world! We were blessed to have her, and we will treasure her memory. We love her beyond words and will miss her endlessly.

Anita “Nan” Troup is survived by her daughter, Marie Herrera, sons, Steve Troup and wife, Jennifer and Bill Troup and wife, Samantha and her12 grandchildren, Ashley Quintana and Vince, Andrea Quintana, Lauren Solano and Chris, Jordan Herrera and Alicia, Kayla Schneider and Scotty, Dr. Adriana Herrera, Jonathan Troup, Jonah Troup, Levi Troup, Ember Powell, Owen Powell and Jonah Powell. Anita “Nan” had ten great-grandchildren, Sgt. Elijah Sanchez, Jesse Sanchez, Isaiah Valverde, Isaac Valverde, Ivyana Salomon, Addison Herrera, Tidus Baca, Emily, Zachariah and Isabella Solano as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Daniel’s Family Funeral and Cremations on Wyoming, 7601 Wyoming Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 11 a.m., also at Daniels- Wyoming. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87109. Pallbearers are Steve Troup, Bill Troup, Jonathan Troup, Jordan Herrera, Jonah Troup, Levi Troup, Jesse Sanchez, Isaiah Valverde, Isaac Valverde, Jonah Powell. Honorary pallbearers Sgt. Elijah Sanchez, and Owen Powell.

A very special thank you to Amber Care Hospice and Nurse Tania for the wonderful care and support. Thank you to all who helped keep her in her home where is wanted to be and provided loving care Marie Herrera, Tony Herrera, Ashley Quintana, Adriana Herrera, Steve Troup, Jordan Herrera and especially Andrea Quintana who was the primary caregiver for the past several months! She wanted to stay in her home and with the help of these loving, dedicated family members her wish was fulfilled!!!
