Laura Mae Wade

Wade, Laura Mae Age 95, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012. She was born in Blount Co., AL on July 26, 1917 to Luther and Elizabeth (Bradford) Fewell. She grew up and worked on her family's farm in the Birmingham, AL area. Laura's father was a farmer and also a sheriff. She loved to read and enjoyed sewing and making quilts. Laura's passion was playing scrabble which she excelled at. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William H. Wade; her sisters, Ila Sandin, Callie Sandlin, Eunice Hight, Eva G. Ledbetter, and Lora Burns; and her brothers, Arnold Fewell and Brice Fewell. Laura is survived by her sons, Larry Wade and wife, Jean; Billy Wade; Jack Wade and wife, Brenda; her grandchildren, Ricky Wade, Renee Haye, Nicole King, Aimee Wade, William Wade and wife, Bridget. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home in Warrior, AL. Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 5, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home. Laura will be buried by her husband in the family plot of the Mount Zion Cemetery in Warrior, AL.
