Laura E. Watts

Laura E. Watts - November 28, 1915 - June 11, 2010 Laura E. Watts went to be with our heavenly father June 11, 2010. Laura was born November 28, 1915 in Arch, NM and was married to Virgil Watts December 15, 1937 in Portales, NM. They moved to Farmington in 1949 where she and Virgil co-owned and operated Watts Laundry. In 1963 she started work with Mountain Bell (Qwest) and retired in 1980. Laura was very active in the community in organizations such as Altrusa Club, Meals on Wheels, First United Methodist Church and the start of Senior Citizens in the Farmington area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Elvie Givens; husband, Virgil Watts; daughter ,Carolyn Watts; grandson, Travis W. Watts; brothers, Bill and Everett Givens; and sister Neva Sanders. Laura is survived by a daughter, Cathy Proffitt (Jim) of Farmington; son, Rick Watts (Barbara) of LaVeta, CO; three grandchildren, Becki Harris (Jared) of Farmington; Gina Griego (Eric) of LaVeta, CO; Brandon Watts (Magen) of Pueblo, CO. She also had six great-grandchildren, Samantha and Jordan Harris, Eric Jr. and Paige Griego, Travis J. and Gavin Watts. Pallbearers will be Jared Harris, Eric Griego, Eric Griego, Jr., Brandon Watts and Pete Denney. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 10:00 am with burial to follow immediately. Arrangements are entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W.
