Mr. Lawrence “Larry” Monroe Miller Sr. passed away peacefully in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, on October 14th, 2022, at the age of 81 years old.
Lawrence is survived by his daughter Theresa Hood of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, son-in-law Norman Hood of Rio Rancho, NM, daughter Bonnie Miller of Centralia, Illinois, son Tom Love of Centralia, IL. Lawrence is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and by his animal companions Sadie and Lucy. Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents Elsie Blossom Price and Verlin Gail Miller, his third wife Marianne Miller who passed in 2013, his second wife Sharon Miller who passed in 2007, and by his son Larry Miller Jr.
Lawrence was born on Thursday, August 14th, 1941, in Centralia, Illinois, to Elsie Blossom (Price) and Verlin Gail Miller. He attended Centralia High School and graduated with his Diploma in 1959. Lawrence enlisted in the United States Army in January of 1960. He earned the Marksman Badge and the Sharpshooter Badge. Lawrence was honorably discharged in August of 1963 with the ending rank of SP4 E4. Lawrence was employed by Local 412 Plumbers and Pipefitters from 1996 to 2010, prior to that time he was employed by Operation Engineers Local 56 for over ten years. He was an active member of the VFW and Masonic Temple. Lawrence had a special interest in woodworking.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held on Sunday, October 30th, 2022, at his home, located at 2317 Dakota Rd., Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 87124, beginning at 12:30PM. A Balloon Release will take place at 2:09PM. All local 412 members along with all of Larry’s friends are welcome. A Luncheon will be served directly afterwards.
