Lee Phillips

Lee M. Phillips, 83, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico passed away on August 22, 2022.

Lee was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 18, 1939 to Frank and Alda Phillips and was the youngest of 4 children.

He proudly served in the Air Force for 22 years, with service time in Vietnam, and stationed at many bases around the country and the world, until his retirement in 1984 as a Master Sergeant. After military life, Lee attended UNM to pursue his masters in history.

Lee loved sports, especially baseball. He was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers, and enjoyed attending games at Isotopes Park with his family. And if he wasn’t attending a game, he loved to talk about baseball and the history of baseball. He enjoyed reading, model trains, watching a good western and enjoyed time with family around the dinner table, and most especially the holidays.

Lee is survived by his sons, Francis Phillips, and Dennis Phillips, Daughter-in-law, Michelle Phillips, and six grandchildren, Ashley Hefley, Brandon Gagne, Austin Phillips, Kendall Phillips, Kaitlyn Phillips, and Donovan Phillips.
