Leona Catherine Preciado (Davidson), age 45, from Albuquerque, New Mexico died July 10^th, 2023. Leona was born on March 11^th, 1978 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of Tim and Mary Davidson. She married Eric Preciado on July 24^th, 1999 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, NM and together they had four daughters and two granddaughters. Leona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and auntie and she will remain eternally in the hearts of her family members and all those who were privileged to know her.

Leona was a graduate of the University of New Mexico.  Leona demonstrated tremendous empathy and compassion toward others and spent most of her career serving the homeless, elderly, and those who struggle with behavioral health challenges. Leona enjoyed horseback riding, music, dance, and home decorating. Leona was an avid reader and she enjoyed writing. Leona’s greatest joy was spending time with her daughters; Mara, Mikaela, Tessa, and Kyra, and her granddaughters, Zelie and Leda. Leona was so proud of her daughters and granddaughters and she enjoyed nothing more than sharing stories about them with others. Leona loved family gatherings and her entire family will mourn the absence of her warm presence. The eldest of three daughters, Leona will be forever missed by her sisters, Erika and Rebecca, who remained her best friends throughout her life.

Leona was predeceased by her husband, Eric Preciado, her father-in-law, Isaac Preciado, her maternal grandparents, Philip and Dolores Krump, her paternal grandparents, Ralph and Helen Davidson, an uncle, Matthew Krump, and a cousin, Adam Krump.

Leona is survived by her children Mara, Tessa, and Kyra Preciado, Mikaela (Esteban) Mendoza, her granddaughters, Zelie and Leda Mendoza, her parents, Tim and Mary Davidson,  her mother-in-law Carmen Preciado and her husband, Michael Gutierrez, her sisters, Erika (Paul) Summers and Rebecca (Michael) Scarlett, her nephews, Maximilian and Theodore Summers, her nieces, Ella Summers, Piper Scarlett, Destiny Castillo, Amanda Torrez, Ally, Britany, and Leandra Preciado, her sister-in-law, Diane Preciado, her brother-in-law, Isaac Preciado,  and numerous cherished uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Leona will have a Catholic Mass of Christian Burial at a date and time to be determined.

There are some who are simply too gentle for this world.
