Leonard L. DeLue, age 72, passed away on March 18, 2026, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He was born on June 18, 1953, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, to Leonard and Donna DeLue.
Leonard graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in 1971 and went on to attend San Jose State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1975. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Captain during his eight years of service.
Following his military career, Leonard dedicated over 30 years working as a security guard. He was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and dependable nature.
Leonard had a love for the outdoors and adventure. In his free time, he enjoyed hiking and scuba diving. He was also a member of a Harley Club, where he shared his passion for motorcycles and camaraderie with fellow riders.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Donna DeLue.
Leonard is survived by his sisters, Diana DeLue of Lakewood, Colorado, and Leslie Kibbee of Littleton, Colorado; his brother-in-law, Michael Kibbee of Littleton, Colorado; and his nieces and nephews, Tracey Kibbee, Michael A. Kibbee, Joseph Kibbee, Brian Kibbee, Jessica Herron, and Avery Kibbee all of Colorado.
Leonard will be remembered for his dedication to family, his service to his country, and his love of life’s simple pleasures.
