GONZALES - Leonardo “Lonnie” Julian Gonzales, age 47, beloved brother, uncle, fiancé, nephew and friend, joined his parents in their heavenly home with the Lord, Thursday, April 7, 2011. He was a life long resident of Albuquerque and a member of the Catholic community. Lonnie enjoyed fishing, BBQ-ing with family and friends, listening to music, and riding his Harley Davidson. He worked and took pride in installing Mosaic Tile, Woodwork, and as an auto mechanic. Lonnie will fondly be remembered by all as a “Big Lovable Teddy Bear” who loved his family, and his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isabel “Chela” and Leonardo “Nayo” Gonzales. Lonnie is survived by his loving sisters, Rosie and Jeannette “Jeanie” Gonzales; Godson, Andrew Armijo; his nephews Gabriel and Leo Gonzales, who he loved as his own sons; the love of his life, Lorella Tapia; his uncles and aunts, Henry and Ella Bustamante, Alex and Josephine Bustamante, Manuel and Norma Bustamante; and other numerous relatives and friends. Visitations will be Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. Evening Visitations will be Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Angels at Garcia Mortuary on 8th Street and Iron, where an Evening Service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., with Senior Pastor Richard Mansfield, officiating. Graveside services and Inurnment will take place Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket and Urn Bearers will be Gabriel “Gabe” Gonzales, Leonardo “Leo” Gonzales, Robert Bustamante, Paul Bustamante, Michael Farmer and Frank Wittkosky. Honorary Bearers will be Andrew Armijo, Phillip Cordova, Anton Aguilar and Faustine Farmer. Lonnie will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched.
