Ligaya Deguzman, lovingly known as “Flor,” age 66, passed away on January 28, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on January 29, 1960, in Manaoag, Pangasinan, Philippines, to her parents, Gumersindo Deguzman and Carolina Frianeza.

Ligaya was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She was united in marriage to Andres Madriaga on March 13, 2016, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Although married for nine years, they shared a loving partnership since 1993, building a life grounded in love, dedication, and family.

Ligaya was employed at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center, where she worked faithfully for 14 years. She took pride in her work and was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature. Outside of work, she found joy in baking and cooking, a reflection of the love and devotion she had for those closest to her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Andres Madriaga of Albuquerque, NM; her sons, Carl Bryan Paras, Adam Madriaga, and Israfil Madriaga, all of Albuquerque, NM; her daughter, Angel Kris Madriaga of Houston, TX; her cherished grandchild, Chayong; and her beloved pets, Scrappy-Doo, Beanito, and Snicker-Doodle.

Ligaya was preceded in death by her mother, Carolina Deguzman; her brother, Agusto Deguzman; her sister, Willma Deguzman; and her nephew, Jhomar Deguzman.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Service – Southern Chapel, located at 2400 Southern Blvd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.

Ligaya “Flor” Deguzman will be remembered for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and the deep devotion she held for her family. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
