Lillian Eleanor Daniels

DANIELS - Lillian Eleanor Daniels, 96, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1966, passed away on November 27, 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon-Joy Palmer of Rio Rancho; three stepchildren, Raymond E. Daniels, Jr., Judith Mead, and Elizabeth L. Flynn; grandson, Cameron Nelson Polland; great-grandchild, Jadyn Virginia Polland; three nieces, Carol Sneden and husband, David of Chelmsford, MA, Alice Ruch and husband, James of Staten Island, NY and Barbara Langdon and husband Sherill of Batavia, NY, Nancy and Beverly, and Linda Curry; and nephews, Dr. Charles Christiansen and wife, Nancy of Rochester, NY, and Robert Nelson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edward Daniels and daughter, Lois Roberta Daniels; parents, Peter Nelson and Roberta Pettersen Nelson; brothers, Rev. Harold Nelson, Walter Nelson, Lawrence Nelson, Clarence Nelson, and Robert Nelson; sisters, Gladys Christiansen, Alice Nelson, Doris Nelson, and Dorothy Nelson. Lillian was a gifted teacher and mentor to the blind and developmentally disabled. She taught them how to play musical instruments and how to sing. Lillian served in the ministry as the wife of a Baptist minister for over 30 years. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and shared that with everyone.
