Lillian Gurule

On March 1st, 2021 Lillian Gurule, age 76, passed away surrounded by her family. 

Lillian went home to her father, our lord and her Husband, Gilbert Gurule. She 

was born on April 23rd, 1944 in Gallup, New Mexico. She resided in Albuquerque, NM. 

Lillian was a gentle soul with a heart of Gold. She was a person of faith and lived 

life helping others. She was the most selfless person and her love and compassion 

for others was endless. She lived a life of forgiveness and love.

She shared the most beautiful love story with her late husband, Gilbert Gurule. 

They were married over 60 years and they were inseparable throughout those 

entire 60 years. She lost Gilbert on February 6th, 2021 and that kind of heart 

ache is unimaginable. Their love was so strong, that the heart ache of being apart 

was too much for, Lillian. We take comfort in knowing that they are at eternal rest 

together in heaven.

Her daughter Doreen was her pride and joy, and best friend. She loved helping 

raise her Grand-children and Great-grandchildren. She shared a special bond with 

each one. Her love for her siblings was like no other. Family meant everything to her.

She was an amazing Daughter, Wife, Mother, Sister, Grand Mother, Great Grand 

Mother, in-law, Godmother, Aunt, and friend. The world has utterly lost an 

amazing soul, but we take Solace in knowing heaven has gained another beautiful 

angel. We will miss you dearly, but you will forever be in our hearts.

Lillian was preceded in death by her Husband, Gilbert Gurule, her Son Tony Ruben Gurule, Granddaughter Barbara Vigil, Father Joe Martinez, Mother Rafaelita 

Martinez, Brothers Bernie Martinez and Joseph Martinez.

Lillian is survived by her Daughter Doreen Vigil, Son-in-Law Adolph Vigil, Granddaughters Bernadette Vigil, Emily Vigil, Fiancé Bryan Alvarez, Darlene Vigil, 

and Husband Scott Vigil. Great Grandchildren Brianna Vigil, Yesenia Sandoval, Arriana Sandoval, Miguel Sandoval, Jocelynn Vigil-Madrid, Nathan Madrid, and 

Granny Carol LaCombe. Siblings Nancy Valverde, Husband Frank Valverde, Irene Gonzalez, Betty Valdez, Theresa Hernandez, Kathy Archibeque, Husband Anthony Archibeque,

David Martinez and Michael Martinez. Long time neighbor Nettie Duran and numerous Nieces, Nephews, Godchildren and Cousins.

Pallbearers: Scott Vigil, Anthony Archibeque, Andrew Maestas, Ralph Vigil, Miguel

Sandoval, Nathan Madrid, and Tommy D Valdez. Honorary Pallbearers: Adolph

Vigil, David Martinez, Michael Martinez, Robert Martinez, Bryan Alvarez, Miguel

Castillo, and Jeremiah Perez.

Viewing at Daniels Family Funeral

Monday March 15th, 2021 from 4pm-5pm

On Tuesday March 16th 2021, Rosary starting at 9:30am followed by Mass at

10:15am.

Please note that mask are required and must be worn at all times. If you can't

wear a mask please join us virtually at https://www.stjudenm.org/ 

Please respect social distancing rules and keep your distance from one another.

While we all want to grieve together we must do so safely.

Keep 6 feet and avoid physical contact with those outside your household.

Burial will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Due to current health

guidelines, this will be a private service. Thank you for your understanding in this difficult time.
