Lily Watson

Services for Lily Watson, 69, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Cope Memorial Chapel. The Rev. John Thumma will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m., Dec. 15, at Cope Memorial Chapel. Watson died Dec. 9, 2009, in Gallup. She was born April 19, 1940, in Wild Cat, into the Salt People Clan for the Towering House People Clan. Watson was a homemaker, was self employed and did beading and sewing. She was a member of the Hooghan Nizhoni Church for 16 years. Survivors include her brother, Juan Watson; sisters, Nora W. James, Clara W. Yazzie; three grandchildren. Watson was preceded in death by John Kee Watson; Alice Kee Watson; parents, Tom Watson, Mary Scott Watson. Pallbearers will be Jim Yazzie, Ernest Yazzie, Kevin Billy, Gil Yazze, Herman Yazzie, Henderson James. The family will receive relatives and friends at Hooghan Nizhoni Church, following services.
