Lloyd Dee Rasmussen

Lloyd Dee Rasmussen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away at age 79 on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in the comfort of his home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

He was born in Alamosa, Colorado on September 9, 1939 to Willis Clinton and Gladys Mae Rasmussen. He graduated high school from Monte Vista, Colorado 1957 and attended Adams State College. He met his wife, Lois Lorraine Mann, while attending college and they were married in Taos, New Mexico on March 17, 1958.

They lived in Monte Vista, Colorado and Durango, Colorado working for Safeway and was later transferred to Farmington, New Mexico. He was employed with A1 Linen and was later offered a position with State Farm Insurance as an agent. He spent forty years with State Farm until his retirement in 2003.

Lloyd was actively involved playing golf and basketball, and he loved watching his children and grand children play as well. When he wasn’t on the green he was officiating, both locally and on a collegiate level. His greatest joy in life was his family. He actively participated in his faith with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved being able to serve in the Albuquerque Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Lorraine Mann Rasmussen, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; son, Jeffrey Alan Rasmussen Sr. (Jacque), of Leander, Texas; daughter, Cynthia Kay Rasmussen Jiacalone (Paul), of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; son, Curtis Wayne Rasmussen (Glenda), of Odessa, Texas; and son, Brian Keith Rasmussen, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and his sister Colleen Mortensen. He was preceded in death by parents, Willis and Gladys Rasmussen, brother Larry J. Rasmussen, and infant daughter, Ellen Marie Rasmussen.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018, 10:00am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, located at 2807 Cabezon Blvd. SE. Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87124. Visitations will be held at 9:00am, prior to the services. Internment will take place at Vista Verde Cemetery, 4310 Sara Rd SE Rio Rancho, NM 87124, at 11:30am.
