Obituary

Logan Scott Zachary, 23, passed away on July 5, 2026. He was born on September 25, 2002, to his loving parents, Rick S. Zachary and Shelley D. Zachary.

Logan graduated from Rio Rancho High School in 2021 and was a hardworking and dedicated electrician apprentice with Power Design Inc., where he pursued his goals and worked toward building the future he envisioned for himself.

Outside of work, Logan found happiness in the outdoors and the things he loved most. He enjoyed bass fishing, hiking, camping, and ice hockey. Logan also had a special love for animals and a kind heart for his pets, who were a very important part of his life. He will be remembered for his humor, adventurous spirit, and the love he had for those closest to him.

Logan is survived by his loving parents, Rick S. Zachary and Shelley D. Zachary; his sister, Kayla Steed; her husband, Gevin Steed; and their children, his nieces and nephew, Sierra, Sophie, Kennedy, and Colson; his girlfriend, Sarah Garcia; and his grandparents, Barbara Zachary, Kathie Utley, John Gast, and Ronald Griffin.

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Evelyn Vanderpool (the late John), Henry Zachary Jr., Joanne and David Rodriguez, Elisa Zachary, and Heather Gast and her wife Jynii Gee; his cousins, who shared many cherished memories with him; and countless extended family members, friends, and coworkers who were blessed to know and love him.

Logan also leaves behind his faithful companions; Nala (dog), Kane (cat), Raven (cat), and Toothless (kitten), who brought him endless joy and love.

Logan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry R. Zachary, and his great-grandmother, Elizabeth “Betty” J. Schweedler.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Logan’s family finds comfort in knowing he is in the loving arms of Jesus and that they will be reunited with him again. They will forever carry his love and memory in their hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Watermelon Mountain Ranch Animal Shelter in Logan’s honor. https://www.wmranch.org/donate-1
