FARMINGTON
Lois Mary Grubb Oct. 9, 1913 - July 23, 2010 Lois Mary Grubb, 96, of Farmington went to be with her Lord and her love on Friday, July 23, 2010, in Moses Lake, Wash. Lois was born Oct. 9, 1913, in Montoya, to Walter and Molly Thurlo.
Lois moved to Farmington in 1926, with her parents, brothers and sisters.
She graduated from Farmington High School in May of 1934, and married Ernie Grubb in a sunrise service on Oct. 20, 1934. They lived in Farmington and Albuquerque most of their married lives, except for a few years during World War II when they moved to California, where they both worked in an aircraft plant. Lois was a ³Rosie the Riveter² and well-valued because as a very petite woman she could work in the smaller areas of the planes that the men could not access.
Lois moved back to Farmington in 1972, where she and Ernie Sr. were members of Crestview Baptist Church. She then moved to Washington state in 2005.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and three sisters; her husband, Ernest Grubb Sr.; and a great-grandson, Brandon Ritchie Sanchez.
She is survived by one brother, Harry Thurlo of Farmington; three sons, Ernest Grubb Jr. (Shirley) of Farmington, Albert Grubb (Mary) of Pisquh, Iowa, and Steven Grubb (Barbara) of Moses Lake, Wash.; as well as eight grandchildren, Dan Grubb (Enid), Dawn Sanchez (Ray), Jeff Grubb (Liza), Kelly Grubb (Cindy), Bert Grubb Jr., Carrie Holte and their mother, Emily Grubb; Steven Grubb Jr. (Gina) and Chris Grubb (Tessa); 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ms. Grubb are at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 31, at Crestview Baptist Church, 4400 E. Main St. in Farmington.
Interment will follow immediately at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
