Lon E. Collins

Lon E. Collins, 90 passed away on Sunday August 27, 2023 after living a long and fulfilling life.

Born in Hot Springs, New Mexico on February 3, 1933 to Richard E. Collins and Genevieve Glynn Collins, he grew up in Colorado's San Luis Valley (Alamosa) with his older brother Richard.

Lon joined the US Navy at age 18 serving 4 years. He was very proud to be a Navy Veteran.

In July of 1959 he started his business: Collins Heating & Air Conditioning retiring in July of 2009. He employed and mentored many people in those 50 years including his children Mike and Stacey.

Lon is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jeannette Collins and children: Mike Collins (Susan), Stacey Collins, Jennifer Brand (Pete) and Martin Mares (Terry).  Grandchildren: Melissa, Jessica, Cameron, Amber and Justin. Great grandchildren: Jasiah, Atticus and Salem and numerous other beloved family members.

Cremation has taken place and services will be held on Friday September 22, 2023 10:00 am, Daniels Family Funeral Services Sara Road Location.
